Planet of the Grapes
Planet of the Grapes develops Savigne, an evolving family of biomaterials derived from grape marc sourced from vineyards in Provence.
Across several phases, Irigai has helped shape the Savigne Material Library, strengthen search visibility, reshape the website and visual world, and evolve the content strategy around the designers, brands and manufacturers most likely to specify, collaborate with and purchase the materials.
The partnership continues through an ongoing strategic retainer supporting commercial positioning, content direction and brand development.
The partnership has included:
-
A structured material family with distinct positioning, application language and designer-facing information for Canyon, Mercury, Eloine and Como.
-
Online profiles and one-page documents translating complex material development into clear, sensorial and commercially relevant information.
-
Search strategy, metadata, website hierarchy, multilingual optimisation and content structures across English and French.
-
A full commercial and editorial rethink of the Planet of the Grapes website, centred on Savigne and the journey from vineyard to material application.
-
A richer palette and more coherent digital identity rooted in Provence, wine culture, material tactility and contemporary French design.
-
A strategic framework connecting materials, applications, partnerships, savoir-faire and commercial development.
-
Continued strategic support as Planet of the Grapes builds recognition, expands the material collection and moves towards greater production scale.
Developing the Savigne Material Library
The Material Library creates a coherent system around Planet of the Grapes’ growing body of work. It brings greater clarity and depth to each Savigne manifestation while preserving the thinking, process and experimentation behind its development.
By bringing material identity, application, collaboration and practical information into one evolving archive, the library gives designers, brands and collaborators a clearer way to explore the collection and understand what each material can make possible.
It also provides a consistent framework for how Savigne is communicated across visual storytelling, written content, collaborations and future opportunities.
Website, SEO and brand uplift
As the material offer became clearer, the next challenge was making Planet of the Grapes easier to find, navigate and understand online.
We developed the English and French website around a clearer commercial and editorial structure, supported by an SEO strategy focused on material type, application, provenance and industry need.
Alongside the website strategy and copy, we evolved the visual direction through a new colour palette rooted in grapes, vines, soil and the Provençal landscape.
Material imagery, typography and page hierarchy were refined to create a more spacious, distinctive brand world that could hold technical credibility, contemporary savoir-faire and sensorial material storytelling together.
The resulting site gives Savigne a clearer place within the business and creates a more coherent journey across the materials, collaborations, provenance and production offer.
Brand colour palette refresh
Ongoing strategic direction
Following the website launch, the partnership moved into an ongoing strategic retainer focused on keeping the brand commercially clear and creatively consistent as the material collection develops.
The content strategy gives each area a stronger role within the wider brand system. Material and application content shows how Savigne behaves and what it can become. Collaborations demonstrate performance, craft and possibility. Provenance and savoir-faire build the cultural world around the materials, while commercial communication makes sampling, production, scalability and bespoke development easier to understand.
The Journal supports this through deeper, search-led stories around the materials, makers, collaborations and wider development of Savigne.
